Breakfast

My favorite meal of the day, breakfast is when I go through my mental to-do list. It's a time to forget yesterday’s mishaps. It is the most important meal of my day; if I don’t eat breakfast, my day feels out of order. On Friday, my friends and I decided to get breakfast at Bluegrass Grill in Chattanooga’s Southside.  The environment was just right; there were people chatting about life, and the right amount of southern charm. It’s one of Chattanooga’s hidden gems. This quaint restaurant displays the building’s original  bricks. The aroma of coffee in the room makes the ambiance complete. While waiting for our food we reminisced on old memories, funny stories, and enjoyed people watching. The morning was just right. I ordered a typical southern breakfast: eggs, potatoes, and grits…only $4.50!

After we finished with our meal, we went to a cute stationery store in Chattanooga, Southern Niceties. They carry brands like Rifle Paper Co., Sugar Paper L.A., Le Pen, Kate Spade, Bando, and so much more. If you’re a stationery love like me you’d be in paper heaven. It was a great morning. Here’s to more adventures!

Valentine's day ideas

Valentine's day is one of my favorite holidays. Just the thought of celebrating friendships and love makes me excited. It's such a positive holiday, with or without a beu. Since I'm in a long distance relationship, and Gilby just got a new job, we probably won't be spending Valentine's day together. However, it doesn't mean we can't celebrate it (we just have to get creative).
I have a few ideas that won't break the bank (if it's for your special others, or just a sweet act of kindness for your friends). This past Monday I raided my favorite section in Target: the dollar spot. There were the cutest cards and trinkets. There were cellophane bags with hearts on them perfect for filling with goodies for your friends. A card always shows a loved one that you care. Below i took a picture of the valentine's card that I found. They're perfect for my group of girlfriends and loved ones. Make Valentine's day fun, not a dreadful holiday.

Tell me about your Valentine's day plans and share your ideas with me. Good luck making this holiday memorable!

Au revoir 2013

2013 was good to me. I started running again, managed to keep my grades up, spent time with family, and became more independent. It was a year of patience, and meditation. I start 2014, as a continuation of the changes I made on 2013, going to the gym regularly, reading the bible in the mornings, and growing as marketing student soon to start my career. 2014 is my year of achieving some goals-- I can feel it. I will be running my first half marathon in March, and graduating in May with a BBA in Marketing. Even though I told my self this year I would only make small monthly goals I decided to make some big ones for the year.

01.01.2014| South Pointe Beach, FL
1. Find a job (not just a random job, but one I LOVE, one I believe in, like in a magazine, or a fun website like Glitter Guide or Refinery 29 )
2. Give selfless time (volunteer, give time to my family, call old friends, write letters, do more things for others.)
3. Make a big trip (travel somewhere and get really emerged in the culture)
4.Meet 1 new contact a month (Networking is so important, its not what you know, its who you know)
5. Write weekly for this blog (this one is gonna be difficult, but I will try not to let my self go)

wish me luck, as make these goals happen

xoxo

Simply Thankful

I feel like i'm constantly asking God for things: help me with this test, mend this friendship, do this, do that. Isn't it annoying when you have that friend that only comes to you when they need a favor? You feel used, and it just doesn't feel like a friendship. I've been thinking about changing that. I want to do something for God. I know--"God has everything, there isn't anything that I could possibly give him". I have decided that this week before finals, I won't ask God for anything, but I will instead thank him daily. This is my week of thanks.
This week I thank God for energy, the sun, ability to run, school, parents, the sabbath, providing me with shelter, keeping me safe, listening to my selfish prayers, loving me regardless of my sinful nature, forgiveness, a godly boyfriend, a caring sister, loving friends.

Earth day.

Earth day has to be on my top 10 of favorite days! I love the fact that we celebrate nature, and think about God's beautiful creation. This year I'm doing Design*Sponge's April Instagram challenge. This weekend I got to enjoy the Ocoee with my family, and it made me realize how lucky we are to have this beautiful river so close to us. We often take these gifts for granted. Some of my resolutions are:
uno| walk more.
dos| reuse containers.
tres| save more, buy less.
cuatro| use, reuse, recycle.

These past few weeks

I've been trying to get as many things done before the end of the school year and lets just say I'm behind on school work. I need to get back on track! While I should be studying i've been experiencing new things, below are some pictures of my favorite old & new things from these past adventures.  The first picture (left to right) is of new places I want to travel and blog about, the second picture is of one of my new favorite bible verses (it's so encouraging). The third picture is of a bakery t at the Lincoln Road farmer's market (I love that farmer's market.) The fourth picture is of a Catholic church in Jackson Square in New Orleans. The fifth picture is of my favorite bookstore in Coral Gables, and the last one is of another artist market in New Orleans.

I can't wait to see what more experiences life will bring.

Go for it.

I like girly things, and I can't wait to have my own home. You see I'm tired of living an ordinary life. I want to do big things! I need to get up from the couch and reach my goals. The question that I'm currently struggling with is how do I get there? How do I find my self achieving these goals. I'm scared & secretly letting my fears stop me. Its cliche I know, but sadly in this case it's true. Right now on my to apply list are: the riffle paper company, Kate Spade, and Martha Stewart Living. I needed just a quick rant, and a little push to get over this.

I wish I worked for Kate Spade Corporate
